On Friday 4 December 1998, 20 years ago, Mater Children’s Private Brisbane (formerly named Mater Children’s Private Hospital) was officially opened by the Governor of Queensland, Major General Peter Arnison AO and blessed by Father Cassian Double OFM. The 25-bed facility was Australia’s first dedicated private paediatric hospital.
This year Mater Education celebrates 20 years as a registered training organisation.
Mater Group is committed to the ongoing safety and care of the community during the holiday period. While there are some closures of Mater facilities and services, many services will continue to open over the Christmas-New Year Eve break.
