Mater has been committed to providing the community with compassionate cancer care for more than 100 years.
The Mater Cancer Care Centre offers all patients, regardless of their level of health insurance cover, a comprehensive and compassionate service that is individually personalised to meet their specific care and support needs in the surrounds of a state-of-the-art facility.
A tertiary service offering all aspects of comprehensive care to patients from Queensland, northern New South Wales and the nearby Pacific, the centre provides Mater cancer care outpatients with access to several interrelated clinical services.
The Mater Cancer Care Centre treats all adult malignancies. Therapeutically the centre utilises chemotherapy (including high dose treatment with stem cell support), biological and immunotherapy, radiotherapy and supportive care modalities. The palliative care service is an integral component of the centre.
Care for patients who need to stay in hospital overnight will continue to be offered in Mater hospitals.
