Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our programs may be subject to change at short notice.

Any face-to-face GP Education programs will be subject to strict registration and capped attendance to  ensure compliance with COVID-19 event saftey guidelines. Should we be required to change any of our events, all registered participants will be notified in advance.

GP Shared Care Alignment - Seminar 2

Time: 8.00am-1.00pm

Event description 
This course is an additional optional education program for GPs who have already completed Alignment 1. It is one way to meet the realignment requirement for (minimum) six hours CPD relevant to women's health every three years. 

The focus is on providing quality maternity shared care in the general practice setting, with up-to-date best practice information provided by Mater Mothers' staff specialists.

Topics include:

  • Preconception care and fertility
  • Ectopic pregnancy
  • Persistent pelvic pain
  • Infections in pregnancy
  • Premature rupture of membranes and premature labour
  • Postpartum care

GPs are required to complete Alignment 1 before participating in Alignment 2 or 3, however may do 2 or 3 in any order.

Time: 8.00am-1.00pm 
 
Event description

The focus is on providing quality maternity shared care in the general practice setting, with up-to-date best practice information provided by Mater Mothers' staff specialists in obstetrics, midwifery, obstetric medicine, psychiatry and psychology. 
 
Topics include:
  • Obstetric complications and medical issues in pregnancy (hypertension, thyroid, asthma, obesity, thromboembolim, pregnancy after bariatric surgery, and perinatal mental health)

A short series of informative podcasts are a required pre-learning acitvity for this course. 

GPs are required to complete Alignment 1 before participating in Alignment 2 or 3, however may do 2 or 3 in any order.

GP Shared Care Alignment - Seminar 1

Time: 8.00am-1.00pm

Event description 

This course is a requirement for GPs who wish to provide shared antenatal care with Mater Mothers' Hospital.

The focus is on providing quality maternity shared care in the general practice setting, with up-to-date best practice information provided by Mater Mothers' staff specialists in obstetrics, midwifery, obstetric medicine, maternal fetal medicine, pharmacology and physiotherapy. 

Topics include:

  • First trimester presentations and recommended screening tests
  • Screening for fetal chromosome and genetic conditions
  • Medical complications in pregnancy (GDM , hypertension, pre- eclampsia) 
  • Prescribing in pregnancy 
  • Recommended immunisations
  • Perinatal mental health 
  • Domestic violence screening
  • Physiotherapy in the perinatal period 
  • Communication with Mater Mothers

If you have recently completed the Certificate of Women's Health (DRANZCOG), Antenatal ALM (RACGP), or an affiliated alignment program, then the Online Bridging and Realignment Education (coming soon) is an alternative option for you.
