From December 2020, GP's will need to complete an Alignment with Metro South Hospital and Health Service if they wish to provide shared antenatal care in the Metro South Health region.

In preparation for the virtual education, we request that you undertake the RACGP Antenatal and Postnatal Shared Care ALM as a pre-requisite.  This course can be accessed through your RACGP account by:

  1. Selecting My Account (top right-hand corner – Gold box)
  2. Selecting “GP Learning 2020” from drop down box
  3. Close pop up box that may appear to welcome you to GP learning – close with X rather than going to dashboard
  4. Searching for ‘Antenatal and Postnatal’ within the Content Library.

For GP’s who are not  members of RACGP.  Please follow the steps below to access this pre requisite activity.

  1. Please call 1800 472 247 or email
  2. Request access to the gplearning Antenatal and Postnatal shared care accredited activity
  3. Member Services team will assist the GP to gain access to the activity

Overview of activity: This CPD accredited course will help general practitioners (GPs) provide high quality shared care management to their patients in the perinatal period. Shared care involves GP clinical assessment and screening of people who are pregnant. Including the management of patients identified at high risk of pregnancy complications such as diabetes, hypertension and perinatal mental illness. GP management of ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, bleeding and rhesus D management is also discussed.

Once you have completed the RACGP course, please send your certificate of completion to us on prior to the course date and we will be able to progress with your registration for the virtual event.
