Dr Nghi Mai completed his internship with Mater after graduating from the University of Queensland in 1996. He then travelled to London to work at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital before returning to Australia to complete basic physician training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
In 2003, Dr Mai commenced advanced training in cardiology at the Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney, returning to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital three years later to perform research in right ventricular function and pulmonary hypertension using advanced echocardiographic techniques.
Dr Mai’s special interest areas include pulmonary hypertension, transthoracic and stress echocardiography and coronary angiography.
He is currently a consultant cardiologist at Logan General Hospital, along with conducting private consultations at Greenslopes Specialist Suites and Mater Medical Centre.
