New appointments to Mater Group Board

The Mater Group Board is delighted to welcome Ms Jane Yacopetti and announce Susan Rix’s appointment to the position of Deputy Chair.

Susan is a Chartered Accountant with more than 35 years’ experience—specialising in corporate governance, family councils, succession planning, taxation structures and restructuring—and is currently a Tax and Advisory Partner with BDO, one of the world’s leading accounting and advisory organisations.

New Mater Group Board member Ms Jane Yacopetti has over thirty years' experience in both the private and public sectors of health and has held senior executive roles in a large regional health organisation and in several tertiary health institutions in Australia.

Both Susan and Jane bring extensive experience to the Mater Group Board.

Extending across the professional practice, retail, financial services and health sectors Susan’s experience includes taxation, general business and management services, provision of budgets, cash flow projections and providing advice to improve business efficiency and profits.

Susan holds positions on a number of Boards and Committees, including within the Brisbane Catholic Archdiocese as Council Member, Brisbane Catholic Education and Board Member, Catholic Foundation. Susan is also a Non-Executive Director at AEIOU Foundation, and for almost 22 years was a Director at Cerebral Palsy League, receiving life membership in 2003.

It is for her outstanding achievement, service and support to many not-for-profit organisations in Queensland that Susan was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia Medal in June 2014.

In the last 15 years Jane has run a successful health consultancy business, which she established to provide high level health management consultancy and advice to clients in the public and private health sectors.Jane Yacopett

Jane has extensive experience with major health infrastructure projects and has also managed the organisation change components of large capital projects in Australia. Jane completed a two year assignment with the Queensland Children’s Hospital Capital Development (a $1.4 billion program of works) as the Executive Project Director. Following this Jane was engaged to assist with the change management and transition of the services to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital a $2.4 billion Public Private Partnership for the South Australian Government.

Jane has governance experience having served as a board member of Children’s Health Queensland Governing Board since 2013, serving as Deputy Chair from 2013-2017.

Susan currently chairs Mater Group’s Risk Management and Audit Committee and the Finance Committee at Mater and is also a member of the Mater Foundation Board.
