On 12 July, Mater Private Hospital Brisbane operating theatres went live with the transition to the theatre management system ORMIS - the Operating Room Management Information System.
The ORMIS system was already already being used successfully by operating theatre staff at Mater Hospital Brisbane, as well as in the Mater Children's Private Brisbane and Mater Neurosciences Centre Brisbane theatres, and is another positive step towards standardising systems across our hospitals to achieve consistent, quality and efficient processes, and optimised data capture and reporting.
Intensive training is ongoing with nursing and theatre staff to ensure a smooth transition to ORMIS with minimal distruption, so we can support the needs of Mater's VMO community.
As the project progresses further, we will stay in touch with the Mater VMOs who utilise the operating theatres, and keep you up to date.
