Dr Daniel Hagley is a vascular and endovascular surgeon. After growing up in Queensland he graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours. He then completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland.
Dr Hagley initially trained as a general surgeon, however during this time he discovered an interest in vascular surgery, specifically the emerging field of minimally invasive endovascular techniques. He was accepted onto the vascular surgery training program and trained under senior surgeons at Royal Brisbane, and Princess Alexandra Hospitals in Brisbane, The Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
After completing the Royal Australiasian College of Surgeons Fellowship in vascular surgery he spent time in London and Brisbane doing further subspeciality training.
In London Dr Hagley spent a year at the largest vascular unit in Europe, St Thomas’ Hospital, London. There he attained further specialist skills in open and endovascular aortic surgery. He also worked with pioneering venous vascular surgeon Mr Stephen Black with developing techniques for deep venous reconstruction. Dr Hagley has published and presented this work at national and international forums.
Dr Hagley then spent another year at the Royal Brisbane Hospital as the Senior Clinical Fellow to further enhance his skills with open aortic surgery and advanced renal access management. Dr Hagley has special interests in:
Dr Hagley is a consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and practices privately at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. He consults on Wickham Terrace, Mater Medical Centre and at the Peninsula Specialist Centre at Kipparing.
