Biography

Dr Kanaka Jeyaraman is a senior endocrinologist who provides evidence-based and patient-centric care for a wide range of endocrine conditions.

She completed her endocrine training at India’s premier institute, All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi and worked as a consultant at Christian Medical College, a renowned tertiary care teaching hospital in India.

Dr Jeyaraman holds a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in endocrinology and has a wealth of clinical experience in both public and private settings in Australia and India.

She fosters a welcoming and compassionate environment where patients feel heard, understood and supported, ensuring each individual receives tailored treatment plans to suit their unique needs and concerns.

As a clinical researcher, she believes in research that translates into improved patient outcomes.

She moved to Darwin in 2012 and worked in the Royal Darwin and Alice Springs Hospitals, before moving to Brisbane in 2022, where she maintains a staff specialist position with Metro South, QLD Health.

Passionate about clinical teaching, research and professional development, Dr Jeyaraman has several publications, textbook chapters and academic appointments to her credit.

She is also actively involved in international and national endocrine societies and committees and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in diagnostic genomics.
