‘Light and Bright’ project delivers a relocated and improved Coronary Care Unit for Mater Private Hospital Brisbane

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane’s ‘Light and Bright’ project is currently underway with Ward 8 South undergoing refurbishment to modernise the ward environment and improve patient experience.

As part of this project a purpose-built Coronary Care Unit will be developed within 8 South, with 10 dedicated coronary care beds available.

8 South will transition from being a medical ward to a custom-built cardiology, respiratory and vascular ward, while general medical beds will be moved upstairs to 9 North.

To assist with patient flow the 41 bed ward has recently opened 20 of its refurbished beds, with the remainder scheduled to be ready by mid-April.
