Improvements to patient parking at Mater

A number of options have been investigated and as a result of this analysis some changes will be occurring to car parking to facilitate an improved patient experience for all Mater patients.

The main change will be the establishment of Mater Hill West car park as a patient only car park from 12 February 2018 between the hours of 5 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday.

The Mater Hill West car park was selected as the best option for patient parking due to its connection to major clinical buildings on site, its access to an existing major customer service booth and established volunteer support desk as well as the ease of access points for vehicles from Stanley Street.

Staff will still be able to access Mater Hill East by entering via Allen Street or can use Hancock Street car park. 

The boom gates between Mater Hill East and West will automatically lift at 2 pm to allow night shift staff access to Mater Hill West and will lower again at 5 am to facilitate patient only parking at peak times.
