Orthopaedic masterclass for GPs
On Saturday 30 October Mater Private Hospital Townsville hosted an orthopaedic masterclass for GPs at the Cowboys Community, Training and High Performance Centre. 
 
The event was supported by a team of talented Mater Private Hospital Townsville orthopaedic surgeons:
 
  • Dr Kaushik Hazratwala
  • Dr Jonathan de Hoog 
  • Dr John Maguire
  • Dr Peter McEwen
  • Dr James Price
  • Dr Andrew Stillwell
Qld X-Ray radiologist Dr Peter Brookfield and Mater physiotherapist and Allied Health Manager James Gaudin also helped to deliver the multidisciplinary and interactive education program. 
 
The session was designed to provide attending GPs with practical tools to assess musculoskeletal issues and injuries in a primary care setting and was extremely well received by attending GPs. 
 
In addition to managing daily orthopaedic presentations in general practice the masterclass also provided the opportunity to showcase the Rosa and Mako orthopaedic robots with practical demonstrations of these new and exciting technologies. 
 
Thank you to the specialists who participated and helped make the event such a success.
