Biography

Dr Yun Phua is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in craniofacial surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. He has a special interest in reconstructive surgery of the head and face after cancer excision or trauma and for congenital facial differences. 

Yun is currently Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and also works at the Mater Hospital Brisbane.

Yun graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He completed training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) after moving to Brisbane in 2016. His fellowship training in craniofacial surgery was undertaken at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. He also completed a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery, including head and neck reconstruction, at the Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden.

Yun is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery and the Australian New Zealand Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.
