Biography

Katie is an approachable and compassionate gynaecologist who enjoys providing care to women for a range of gynaecological issues across the lifespan. With two years of additional fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, she is especially passionate about providing high quality care for women with endometriosis and pelvic pain.

Katie offers a full range of surgical and non-surgical gynaecological services including treatment for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, laparoscopic hysterectomy, cervical abnormalities, infertility, menstrual dysfunction and pelvic pain.

Katie is a Queensland local who completed an undergraduate science degree and then her medical studies at the University of Queensland. She completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology whilst working across a range of regional and tertiary hospital settings including Mater Mothers’ Hospital, Ipswich Hospital and Cairns Hospital. During her advanced training years, her focus areas were gynaecology oncology, complex gynaecological surgery, adolescent gynaecology and persistent pelvic pain. She also completed a Masters in Health Management at the University of New South Wales during this time. After obtaining her FRANZCOG, she chose to continue developing her surgical skillset via a two-year Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery (AGES) Laparoscopic Fellowship in Brisbane and is accredited to perform minimally invasive gynaecology surgery at an advanced level (AGES Level 5).

When she’s not working, Katie loves getting outdoors and is an avid hiker, explorer and soccer player. Her warm and friendly approach puts her patients at ease and creates a safe environment to discuss any issue.

Katie works publicly as both an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Mater Mothers’ Hospital and consults privately in the Salmon Building at Mater Hospital South Brisbane providing gynaecology services only. She offers surgical care at Mater Private Hospital South Brisbane.
