Dr Corney practices privately at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and publicly at Mater Hospital Brisbane where he is Director of Internal and Perioperative Medicine.
Since 2018, Dr Corney has also held the leadership position of Deputy Director of Medicine at Ipswich Hospital where he has championed a number of innovative models of care and patient outcome measures.
He has maintained a strong focus on medical education having been the Director of Physician Education at Ipswich for the several years and also the Deputy Head of School at the Greenslopes Private Hospital clinical school within the University of Queensland Medical School.
