Biography

Dr Julie Buchanan is passionate about women’s health and wellbeing. She offers services from conception to delivery, as well as the management of gynaecological problems such as menstrual irregularities, abnormal pap smears, pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence and menopause.

Dr Buchanan has a special interest in the complex and potentially changing journey of pregnancy and the sensitive nature of gynaecological problems, and as such places emphasis on communicating clearly and compassionately.

Many women experience changes in their lifetime and Dr Buchanan truly understands this. As a mother to three primary school aged children, she well remembers the pregnancy journey and the uncertainty that can occur.

It is important for her to keep up to date by attending conferences and teaching medical students. She helped set up the University of Queensland clinical coaching program in Ipswich and plays an important part in maintaining the education of medical students.
