Professor Lewis Perrin is a Professor of Gynaecological Oncology of the University of Queensland and clinical Director of Gynaecological Oncology, at the Mater Hospital Brisbane. He leads a strong multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, allied health and scientists enabling a team approach to individualized care. The team has a central focus of employing and developing the latest modalities of treatment and recruitment of patients into trials and research studies, ensuring optimal care.
His clinical research includes minimally invasive and sentinel node surgery, optimal cytoreductive surgery combined with HIPEC (Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy). His translational research focus is on the identification of molecular drivers of gynaecological malignancies and the evaluation of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies using disease relevant preclinical models, including those derived from patient tumours. He has an extensive network of national and international collaborators enabling publication and distribution of the research.
Prof Perrin conducts private practice at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and consults at the Gynaecology and Oncology Group based at Mater Medical Centre in South Brisbane.
