An Obstetrician with a special interest in high risk pregnancy, Dr Paul Bretz discovered the career path he had been searching for when offered a six month post in obstetrics at Mater by Dr James King in 1992.
Holding a long association with Mater Health Services, Dr Bretz commenced as a Registered Medical Officer with Mater in 1991 after graduating from the University of Queensland.
Following this he worked as an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar at Mater Mothers’ Hospitals, Gold Coast Hospital and Nambour Hospital before journeying to the United Kingdom to work at the Chester and Jersey Hospitals.
In 2001, Dr Bretz returned to Australia, re-establishing his link with Mater as a Visiting Medical Officer.
He now consults privately from the newly established Arrivals Obstetric Centre located at 588 Stanley Street, South Brisbane.
