Dr Gattas trained as a paediatrician at the Camperdown Children’s Hospital in Sydney and at Mater Children’s Hospital .
He undertook further training as a fellow in genetics at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne and completed his genetics training in Birmingham. Dr Gattas has worked in Queensland as a full-time consultant in genetics since 1996 and opened his private practice, Brisbane Private Clinical Genetics, in 2004.
