Refugee Maternity Clinic launched at Mater

On 13 November, Mater Mothers’ Hospitals (MMH) commenced a new Refugee Maternity Clinic which will develop into a service model of care over the next 12 months.

Antenatal clinic referrals

Mater Mothers’ Hospital Antenatal Clinic has developed a new standard referral form. From Monday 19 October 2009 only referrals using the standard referral form will be accepted.

Mater Mother's Hospital GP Shared Care Alignment

GPs wishing to provide shared antenatal care with Mater Mothers’ Hospital (MMH) need to complete an alignment program by March 2011.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) is a specialist area in Mater Mothers' Hospital (MMH) that deals specifically with problems in early pregnancy. The unit is located on level 7 of the new MMH.

Refugee maternity service

The Refugee Maternity Service is based on a best practice model to support appropriate health care, psycho-social support and resources for women of a refugee background birthing at Mater Mothers Hospital.

Shared care

In line with national trends and a commitment to providing the highest quality of antenatal care to women, Mater Mothers’ Hospital, in partnership with South East Alliance of General Practice Brisbane and the Brisbane South Division of General Practice, has developed a Maternity Shared Care Alignment Program.
