Mater Private Hospital Redland has welcomed a new visiting medical officer in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Matt Macbeth.
Dr Macbeth joined Moreton Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology replacing well known local obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Paul Truscott.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr Macbeth trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital London. He then undertook specialist training in Australia in Tasmania and Queensland and trained in pelvic floor surgery at the QEII in Brisbane.
Dr Macbeth says one of the reasons he chose to be an obstetrician and gynaecologist was that he found the speciality to be a very positive and rewarding one, particularly as he gets to share the joy with families when they celebrate the birth of a new baby.
Since moving to the Bayside area, Dr Macbeth says he has been enjoying the change of lifestyle and is looking forward to making a major contribution to women’s health care in the local area.
“The Bayside region is a growing community and it is a wonderful place to live, the people are so warm and welcoming,” Dr Macbeth said. “The region has so much to offer and I am looking forward to delivering a new generation of Bayside babies and providing the highest standard of gynaecology care for women in this community,” he said.
Dr Matt Macbeth works at Moreton Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Suite 11-12 Weippin Street, Cleveland. Telephone 07 3821 9462.
